Remodeling’s 2023 Cost vs. Value Report

When considering a renovation, one of the best resources for homeowners is Remodeling Magazine’s annual Cost vs. Value report. The publication examines what it costs for a licensed professional to do one of several home improvement projects in various cities across the nation.

The annual report includes figures for Job Cost, Resale Value, and Cost Recouped (ROI). This enables homeowners to understand what upgrades bring the most bang for the buck and helps them to be better prepared for the estimates they request from design-build firms, general contractors, and subcontractors.

As compiled in the Remodeling 2023 Cost vs. Value Report, the interior renovations with some of the highest ROI in Charlotte, NC are a Midrange Minor Kitchen Remodel (75.9%) and a Midrange Bath Remodel (64.6%).

Despite interior renovations being popular, as you see in the Key Trend article, exterior improvements continue to be a boon to home sales.  In Charlotte, exterior renovations are still the best return on investment. Manufactured Stone Veneer (120.8%) and Fiberglass Grand Entrance Door (104.2%) are just two of the renovations that will add value to your home and recoup over 100% of the cost when you sell.
