The homeowners that live in this beautiful bungalow needed another bedroom for their growing family.We raised the sloped roof and added a bedroom at the top of the stairs inside the home.This addition maintained the architectural details of the home’s exterior.Neighbors commented that the addition looks like it’s always been there!The upstairs hallway with the sloped roof felt cramped and the bookcase was challenging to access.We brought the hallway to full height and removed the built-in bookcase.  There’s a small alcove in the hallway that has the potential for a variety of uses throughout the years.The beautiful new bedroom has a lot of natural light.The shed roof does create slope in the bedroom, but these corners create perfect spots to tuck in a changing table or dresser.

A finished closet was tucked in behind the door.
